Gruyères

Perched on a hill and dominated by its 13th-century castle, Gruyères charms visitors with its cobblestone streets, fountains, and timeless atmosphere.

Entirely pedestrian-friendly, the town has given its name to the region and to its famous cheese, Gruyère AOP. Surrounded by the Gruyère Pays-d’Enhaut Regional Nature Park and Mount Moléson, it combines heritage, gastronomy, and unspoiled nature.

In December 2021, Gruyères was named one of the “Best Tourism Villages” by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), a distinction awarded to only 44 villages worldwide for their commitment to sustainable and authentic tourism.
